Gender reveal

I don’t know if this is a silly questions or not 🤣, but how do they look for the gender? Does baby have to be in a certain position? can it be quite hard?, I’ve been panicking as my gender scan is next week with my gender reveal planned for the week after and I’m just in a pure panic they won’t be able to find it

It can be difficult if baby is in an awkward position, but generally, there's no problem.

I worried about this with our gender reveal but as soon as we got in the sonographer said he found the gender straight away so they are trained to know how to look for it but I always have a sugary drink before any of my scans to make sure they are moving around xx

If they can’t find it on that day, they might get you to walk around a bit and have something sugary to get baby to change positions. If that doesn’t work too, there are places you can find online who can do same day scans (there is a fee ofc)

My personal experience is my little boy was not shy whatsoever. but on scans where they need to see his heart etc like the 20 week one he played up and wouldn’t move his arm so i drank a cold bottle of water and walked for 15 mins and he’d move. but they’re trained and know what to look for!! don’t panic xx

I was told to eat an ice lolly before I went in to get baby moving - worked for me! We found out straight away xx
