Homeschooling one year old

I am officially starting homeschooling for my 1 year old starting on the first! I am so excited. I see a lot of posts asking “what do I do with my baby?” and such. Should I share the “curriculum” and activities I have planned as we go?

yes please !! i’ve been wanting to do this as well but have no clue where to start

PLEASEEE

There’s been an overwhelming amount of yes votes so I decided to make a group for us all! I’ll attach the link or you can search for “Tiny Tot Academy” in the groups tab. https://www.peanut-app.io/share/UNf0IlmOFPb

I love how excited you are to fully invest in your child! I’m interested to hear what your “curriculum” entails! But For the love of goodness, do not do anything that remotely looks like “school” for a one year old. Kids learn BEST by unstructured play alone, with their primary caregiver, and with their peers until well past 3! There’s lots of support (from teachers as well!) for not trying to “teach” kids anything academically before school age

@Trish Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I completely agree that unstructured play is vital for young children—it’s such a natural and joyful way for them to explore and learn. My goal isn’t to replace that with a rigid “school” structure but to enhance their experiences through gentle, age-appropriate activities that align with their developmental stage. As a primary caregiver, I see this as an opportunity to create a semi-structured day that balances free play with activities that nurture curiosity and skills like identifying shapes, colors, fine motor tasks, sensory exploration, and building emotional connections. Research shows that engaging in these kinds of activities with a loving caregiver can lay a strong foundation for cognitive and social development while still allowing for plenty of unstructured, child-led exploration. Every family has their own rhythm, and for us, this feels like a meaningful way to invest in our child’s early years.

I would love this info!!
