Fussy foodie!

My 19/mo little boy has suddenly become really fussy at mealtimes. All the things he loved to eat are being thrown on the floor. Breakfast time is the hardest, we’ve tried boiled egg, omelette, fruit, pancake, toast, cereal, porridge, muffin, crumpet, ham & cheese. I’m losing the will to live 🙈 even tried giving him breakfast a bit later so he’s really hungry. Any meal ideas that don’t get launched back at me please 🙏 We are a family of 7 so easier the better! I don’t want to be baking protein muffins if I can help it 🤭

He's such a cutie 🥰. I think it's a phase, my LO hasn't been eating too, and I've had to force her to feed her. I hope she bounces back to the times she used to eat so well

@Spendilove Osei thank you ☺️ he’s a very sweet boy 🩵 except when he’s lobbing food back at me 😂🙈 I hope it’s just a phase xx

My son was the same at 1.5

At that age they experience a lull in growth, as well as some changes in brain chemistry, and both together can mean a kid suddenly needs less food, and is incredibly picky about what food they do need as their tastes have changed. Probably just make smaller portions for the time being, and keep introducing new foods so they can find new favourites. Lots of fruits, veggies, and meat if you can manage, as these are the more nutritionally dense options. You'd be surprised how little they need when not going through a growth spurt. If they're loosing weight or anything like that obviously this advice doesn't apply, but for most kids, as long as they get a good 3-4 bites of food a meal, can be just fine on that when not actively growing
