The Coil

So im due my 2nd child in March and due to complications am having another C section. When i was last seen at the prem prevention clinic they asked me if i wanted the Coil fitted after having the baby! I hadnt really thought about it and they said i can think about it. I dont think i will be wanting any more children but my partner having a vasectomy seems very final. I dont really want to go back on the pill again as ive been on it since i was 15 (im now 35) Just wondering what everyone else is doing via contraception and for those who have the coil what are the pros and cons. Ive never suffered with heavy periods but am prone to thrush which ive heard can be a con if you have the coil?

I am hoping my partner will have a vasectomy (we have 3 kids) but until then...I had been using the contraceptive injection before my 2nd pregnancy and then started it again the day after my c-section. My GP recommended the inject-at-home so I don't have to keep getting appts every 3months and it's great for me.

I've got the mirena hormonal coil. Way lower hormone dose than the pill. But it helps my endometriosis symptoms so I barely have periods

I got thrush constantly with the mirena coil.l tried to persevere between May- December to see if it would stabilise. I had it removed recently due to the thrush and now I’m TTC anyway as soon as it was out the thrush has gone and hasn’t come back.

Thanks for your replies ladies x

@Nicola im prone to thrush anyway and have really light periods normally so think i'll look into other contraceptive options. X
