Formular fed babies

For those who bottle feed and use the kettle, how do you prepare your bottles? Can you prepare more than one and store in the fridge for 24 hours? Then do you reheat by standing the bottle in a jub of spiking water? Please can you advise me the steps that you take to prepare your bottles thank you

Yes you can do that… but I used a hot shot of boiling water then added powder, shook the bottle that kills any bacteria in the formula, then topped up with cool boiled water measured from another sterile bottle, it’s perfect drinking temp and you can do it anywhere at home or on the go x

Here is what we do: boil a kettle of water, cool to just about 158 so it's hot enough to kill the bacteria but not hot enough to kill nutrients in the formula. We use a formula pitcher (highly recommend) and fill water to the highest line (cause my baby eats a lot right now), then add powder. We use the handy pitcher mixer and then keep it in the fridge. We use it over the next 24 hours (usually less). Just pour into bottles, heat in bottle warmer, and you're good.

Incognito I do exactly that has worked for me and my children

Boil the kettle, fill up your flask. When baby wants a bottle use the hot shot method with the Nuby rapid cool x

I make bottles and fridge them. Use either a jug of hot water to warm or the bottle warmer depending where he wants feeding but I didn’t start doing this until around 6 months. I made fresh up to this point because I was always worried about making them

Thank you so much ladies, I use a prep machine atm which I used for my first child and she was fine but second baby seems in discomfort I'm not sure if he has colic or just having some tummy troubles atm as he's only 9 days old, but I've read that prep machines aren't really reccomended now so I've just made up 6 bottles using the kettle with fresh water, waited for them to cool at the right temp I have nuk anti colic bottles which indicates when they're at the right temp and I've popped them in the fridge and will warm then up as and when needed and put them in a jug of warm water. Thanks so much for all of your advice here it's really much appreciated ❤️

I use the doctor browns formula pitcher and I love it

This was how it was done when I had my daughter (2004), but when I had my son (2009) we were told the advice and guidance had changed to making them on demand.
