Teaching Guide for Children

Hi mamas. Please is there any app or website that provides guidance on what and ways to incorporate teaching to a 15 months old. More like continuous teaching as my daughter grows. Also, if there are specific educative books that were helpful, please let me know. Thank you ❤️❤️

A 15 month old doesn’t need ‘teaching’ or any curriculum, they learn through play and interaction.

If you're in the UK then bbc happy little people I think it's called has some stuff to help you with how to help them with things from first words, arts and crafts and all sorts of fun ways out kids can learn through every day stuff. I don't think you'd find educative books as such for such a young age because as above there isn't really any focus on specific teachings and even at preschool they'd probably just be playing and learning to explore the world and developing social skills rather than focusing purely on education

That’s actually what I mean. Thank you so much

Hey! Primary school teacher here. There are developmental milestones that are compiled by experts in the fields which are used in medicine and education. Take with a pinch of salt, because every child develops at different rates and that is totally normal! Here are a couple of links, one to development matters which is a comprehensive guide from birth to 5, and a NHS link that breaks down the first year in an easy to read way 😘 again, this is the rate that the many children learn at, but not all. Some argue that it’s a low majority that learn at this rate, and that’s ok 💚 https://dera.ioe.ac.uk/id/eprint/14042/7/development%20matters%20in%20the%20early%20years%20foundation%20stage_Redacted.pdf https://www.cambscommunityservices.nhs.uk/advice/staying-safe/childhood-development/milestones

Hi! I have loved these resources, which provide lists of activity ideas and development stages based on age (and the sites themselves have so much more than that as well in terms of parenting support) https://centerforparentingeducation.org/library-of-articles/child-development/child-development-by-age/ This one is Waldorf based and lists age based activity ideas: https://waldorfcurriculum.com/Preschool/1001pageone.html
