I use rapid cool I’d say they are worth it and both the flask that came with it and the rapid cool were absolute life savers the first couple of weeks and the flask is handy while out and about but did find the flask didn’t stay as hot for long so now just boil the kettle and use the rapid cool on it’s own and have just a normal thermal flask that seems to stay hot longer ☺️ x
@Carrie did you buy the 3 bottle set?
@Taikeisha what’s the hot shot method please? The video I watched just shows making the whole bottle up in the rapidcool
Yes I did 😊 we do the hotshot method as stated above too which is basically putting a shot of hot boiling water in the bottle and then making the rest up with the cooled water x
@Carrie fab. So if I’m making 4oz bottle. I’d do maybe 1oz straight in the milk bottle with the formula. Put 3oz in the rapid cool then add to the milk bottle? Is that right?
This is what I do yes whether other people do it differently I’m not sure but I do it this way x
@Carrie thank you. Helps a lot. Think I’ll go out and get them tomorrow. We currently use the prep machine but have noticed sometimes the hot shot isn’t as hot so think it’s not working properly so want an alternative and quick way to make the bottles! Do you think just the rapid cool and 1 flask is enough? I like the limited edition one in smyths lol
Yes we only use the one flask 🙂 x
It takes three hours to reset the rapid cools so I would def recommend you get two just in case ☺️ we have two and had no issues. We also have a thermos flask for night feeds which is really good and they stay boiling hot for hours
Also if it’s the green/blue 2 tone one they have that on Amazon too and if you know about the baby wishlist and have one of those you get 15% off when buying it from your baby wish list x
I’ve got the rapid cool, I actually have 4 because I use them every feed. I don’t use the hot shot Method because I just find it easier to do the full feed and sterlise and then alternate them. I prefer them than the preps which I had with my first and like you it wasn’t very hot and my little one was very sick x
I’m BFing this time but with my first son they were a god send!
I don’t add formula to my nuby, I only use it for the hot water so I can keep reusing if I’m out! So I add around 1oz of hot water directly from a flask into a bottle with the formula powder (hot shot), then add 3oz of hot water to the nuby to cool down. Once it’s cooled, I add the 3oz to the bottle and the powder to make my 4oz bottle! Because my nuby has only had hot, boiled water in, I can reuse it again for another bottle if we are out without needing to sterilise ☺️
@Scarlet 🤍 thank you! Makes perfect sense now. Sorry for the silly question, my brain isn’t working properly at the movement lol

@Scarlet 🤍 I don’t put the formula in the nuby either I think she said above put 1oz in the milk bottle and then the rest of the water in the nuby which is why I said that’s the way I do it, unless I’ve read it wrong but the way you’ve just explained is the way I do it 🙂
@Carrie I saw it on Amazon but it’s 1-2 month wait :( but Smyths have it so will get it tomorrow I think
My brain hasn’t worked properly since I got pregnant 😂😂 Don’t worry, it took me a couple of attempts to work out how to use it best for us! Some people add their formula to the nuby and wash/sterilise each time they use, and other people do the hot shot method and just use for water like i do, so it’s just whatever works for you! I tend to only use it twice for the hot water before I would wash and sterilise, but I’m sure some people use it more/less than that!
Also, I’m the same as Carrie and dont use the Nuby flask - I just brought one with good reviews on Amazon! You can then get a couple for the sizes you need to fit in the amount of water! If you’re only going to need it once or twice for your changing bag you can get a smaller flask, or if you’re going to be out longer or on a long journey and need a few bottles worth then you can get a bigger one!
@Scarlet 🤍 me neither and that’s pregnant with the first in 2022 😂 That’s good to know. I have the ninja thirsti flask so could use that for the hot water. Thanks so much for your help
Yes they’re a god send! We only have the cooling flask and use a normal thermal flask for our hot water x
We use for every bottle, makes the perfect bottle every time. To use more efficiently id recommend the hotshot method so you don’t need to wash and sterilise after every bottle x
