When to increase formula?

My boy has been on 120ml for a few weeks now. He is 8 weeks...sometimes he finishes it sometimes he don't...I don't listen to Bix. Listen to ur boy xx

@Kirstie how many times is he feeding per day? Mine always finishes bottles and most of the time roots for more 🤦🏼‍♀️

He goes every 3 hours sometimes 4... if he wants more make bigger bottle... he will only take what he wants hun. Xx we tried to up roman to 150ml and he literally drank 120ml and spat the bottle at me haha

My 5 week old is on 5oz and he feeds every 2/3 hours but sometimes hourly, he can have easily 8/10 feeds in 24 hours, I wouldn’t listen to the box just go off your baby x

My 7 week old was on 150ml every 3/4 hours and having 7 ish feeds a day but was rooting for more after every feed. I’ve started giving her 180ml and she’s going 4 - 4 1/2 hours between feeds and having 6 feeds a day. She’s on aptamil and the box says 180ml from 8 weeks but she’s much happier having that extra 30ml. Also sleeping for longer in the night. Maybe try upping the ml and see x

My girl is 4 weeks and is quite petite - she's on about 9/10 feeds a day. We do mostly 90ml in the day and 120ml at night and first thing. I think you'll know if he's needing more ❤️ she's having between 850-950 ml total per day

My 7 week old has 6oz-7oz every 4 hours which ends up being around 5 to 6 feeds a day, and then he normally gets quite a long sleep stretch with one feed during the night depending on when he went to bed

@Charlotte when you transitioned to bigger feeds was that when he started going longer or did he already have quite big stretches?

So when we moved from 5oz to 6oz is when we started to get the li get stretches. And then we’ve just transitioned to 7oz this weekend so he’s only been having the 7oz consistently over the past 24hrs. When we upped his oz to 6, he would have his last bottle at 10.30/11pm, be asleep by 11.30ish and then sleep till 5/6am, he then has a bottle and goes back to sleep for another 1-2 hours so I make the most of it and get my shower or breakfast in haha. He’d stir in the night but not cry. I’d just pop his dummy back in and he’d self settle in his next to me but I look for hunger signs. If I notice hunger signs, I see if he self soothes and if he stirs 2-3 times within 10-15 minutes with hunger cues I’ll wake him for a bottle and then he’ll go back to sleep

@Jade does he always finish the bottle as well? Mine rarely leaves anything so just worries he’ll be having way to much if I up it and he keeps on the same feeding a hey but you think that’s ok?

Yes 99% of the time, very rarely anything left, last night he hadn’t fed in 3 hours and had 5oz drained it in less than 5 mins and had another 2 straight after!

@Jade oh wow ok so if he’s still hungry you just give him more? I’m so worried about over feeding him and him being sick but I might just try it!

Yeah and then he’ll stop when he’s had enough sometimes he just needs that little extra if he’s gone longer than normal!
