Help

I’ve just experienced my third miscarriage. All happened before 8 weeks. First miscarriage was before my son was born. I’ve just experienced two more miscarriages. Starting to feel like something is wrong with me. Does anyone have advice or experience with what types of questions I should ask my doctor at my upcoming appointment? All I ever hear from doctors is that this is normal and to just carry on. Thanks!

Ask then to check your vitamin d levels, it’s not routinely checked and if your in the uk we are notoriously low in vitamin D which plays a vital role in growing a baby, if your low the typical pre-natal supplements won’t contain enough! So sorry for your loss 🤍

I’m so sorry. I’m going through my third miscarriage too atm (bleeding for 3 days now and my tests are getting fainter by the day so I know it’s 100%. I have a doctors appointment next week and my questions are: Why am I having so many losses in a row? To take a blood test, specifically looking for thyroid levels and anything that can indicate anything at this point. Testing my progesterone levels, if they’re low it could indicate why the pregnancies aren’t progressing. I’m not a year in into my TTC for baby #2 so I know I won’t get a referral to a fertility clinic & I’d never lie to get an appointment bc I know there are women out here who genuinely need those appointments. But I’ll also be looking to get a Mommy MOT privately done. If you live in the UK you can get one done for around £100 give or take. Sending you lots of love.

Progesterone levels? Could need shots to help keep the pregnancy going. Genetic testing?

I think I had a friend who had multiple miscarriages and when she conceived her last baby, she had to take these progesterone shots I think it's called? 🤔... I would definitely ask your OB on the next visit. I'm sorry for your loss 🙏

I'm so sorry. I've had three miscarriages all around six weeks, I was referred by my doctor for genetic testing and testing for all sorts thyroid, blood clotting etc, all came back clear. I've now been prescribed progesterone and aspirin and am currently 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby🤞🏼

@Jemma congratulations❤️ When you start taking aspirin? Um wondering if it's best to take straight away.

@Raine I was prescribed by my consultant as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Started on 75mg but at 12 weeks moved to 150mg

I think in the uk if you have had 3 miscarriages they will take testing seriously (don’t tell yo ur gp they weren’t in a row!) I have had 3 this year, and finally made my gp refer for tests, (she had to google what AMH was!) I have lots of friends who have had private fertility treatment so have advised me what to ask for when testing bloods Vit d, thyroid and all hormone levels and any levels. I’ve insisted on an internal scan too as my first baby was a csection, It could well just be ‘bad luck’ as the docs tell us, but I think having th tests and then all coming back fine will make me more relaxed:) Also advised to take folate, coq10, and omega3:) Best of luck with it all! X

*AMH levels :)
