@Brenda that makes me feel better! Thank you!😅
my is 3 weeks and earlier he ate 4oz then a hour later 2oz.. i’ve learned they hit their first grow spurt between 1-3 weeks that’s when i noticed he’s been eating more sometimes he’ll eat an 1.5oz sleep and come back to eat 2-3 more
Mine is 11 days old and he drinks 3-4oz usually 3oz but always acts hungry after
We do 3oz every 3 hrs and burp every oz
@SarahGrace i was giving him 1 1/2 oz and he still acted hungry! So i changed it to 2 oz and hes gotten calmer after feedings lol. I believe ima have to up it again soon
My son is 3 weeks old. I’m combo feeding. He’ll latch onto my boobs then top off with formula (2oz) . It’ll repeat. Boobs, formula, boobs, formula. He’ll have 2oz each feed for formula .
@s a r a 🥀 we do the same breast milk during the day and starting around 10pm we do formula. We also add vitamin d to morning bottle.
@Madelynn omg yes my son was screaming and crying after 2oz and was trying to latch to something. Our pediatrician said we could do 2.5oz and we tried that but it wasn’t enough. Now with 3oz he sleeps a lot better and is more calmer. Our first struggled to eat so this is a big difference haha
Respectfully, find a new doctor. A baby cannot overeat. 1.5 ounces is likely not enough at two weeks. My baby is 2.5 weeks and is typically eating 3-3.5 ounces per feed (when we use a bottle with breastmilk. Indeterminate when nursing). You should never limit how much your infant gets…
@SarahGrace I see. We don’t have a schedule. He wakes up for when he’s hungry.
@Claire well lasttime i overfed him he threw up all over us. A baby can over eat in 1 feeding lol. And he only drinks breastmilk with a bottle. And when i took him to the dr he was 3 days old
@Madelynn this was likely a nipple flow or latch issue. Make sure you are using the correct nipple size. Babies are born with excellent hunger cues and we don’t need to limit their intake…
@Madelynn additionally, spit up is perfectly normal and is not indicative of over feeding. If your infant is in fact vomiting, it could be a sign of a more serious issue, such as an allergy or bug, in which case you should consult their GP. But I imagine you were just being hyperbolic and the spitting up just means your baby is clearing gases like they are supposed to
Hi! I’m a FTM too! My baby is the same! She will be 3 weeks tomorrow. She’s eating anything between 2oz-3oz. Sometimes, I’ll give her 3.5 oz at night to top her off, but I was told 2-3 is fine and once they are a month then it should be 3-4 oz.
