Cleaning baby's mouth

My baby boy is only 2 months and 2 weeks old, 3 months in January. His tongue is white on top, and I'm not sure when we should be brushing his mouth. He's not teething right now, but he has formula breathe and a pink with white on top tongue. Any advice will be welcomed, and thanks ahead of time.

He doesn't need to have his mouth cleaned yet but it is never too early to introduce a finger brush or something like that to get him used to the idea. Just lightly massaging the gums. Helps when they have teeth and cleaning is a thing that will need to happen.

You don't really have to clean out his mouth but if you're concerned it might be thrush you can always wipe his tongue with a moist washcloth to make sure the white coating is just milk residue

It's possible the white on his tongue is thrush especially if it doesn't go away when you try to clean it off. A prescription from your doctor will make it go away pretty quick.

If its not thrush, it’s just formula residue, brushing didn’t really do much with our twins. They started salivating and it has helped tremendously with milk not starting on their tongue

It's recommended by pediatric dentists to clean the gums with clean gauze that's moistened with water after every feeding. Minimally twice daily (morning and night). Even though they don't have teeth yet, bacteria can still build up within the oral cavity.
