Potty training

We've had the potty out for ages and he just used to sit on it to read his books however this past week he's just got it 🤷‍♀️ I was in the garden with the dog and he carried the potty with a tiny wee out to show me and he thought to use it without any prompting! We were amazed so have just gone with it. When we are home he's just being naked bottom half and using the potty but if we are going out or busy with things so can't keep such a close eye he's been back in a nappy. He's had 9 stickers on his potty chart in 2 days!!! He's back to nursery on Thursday and going up a room so not sure what he'll want to do there as he'll need to ask to go to the potties in time rather than it just being there for him at home so I imagine nursery will take a while longer to crack for him. Go for it, honestly my little man has surprised and amazed us and I'm so proud of him 😊

We have cracked it over Xmas 🤞🏻🤞🏻 started with lots of nappy free naked time then introduced pants. We are accident free for 2 days now and she’s telling us what she needs wee or poo so now she’s recognising the signs…hopefully another good day today. X

Potty training our daughter at start of November as she was showing signs! Took to it so well! All I’ll say is have a plan of how you wanna do it and just go for it! xx

I potty trained my girl back in July - she was young but very very ready. We had a toilet seat she would sit on before a bath and causally left a potty out for her to explore. Then when we had that heatwave I went for it.. naked all day lots of drinks and constant reminders about a wee wee feeling and sitting on the potty. Lots of praise when she went and after 3 days she had it and would go sit by herself. Two days later she refused a nappy at bedtime and we have been dry since (the odd accident when not very well or a busy day) but consistency is key and once you start don’t go backwards as it can be confusing. We also told everyone we could about her being a big girl and no nappies etc! I found helping her recognize that feeling really helped so made a big fuss about how she felt when she was doing a wee or a poo so she knew the feeling for the next time she needed to go!

We’ve been potty training for about two weeks. She took to it so well (much better than I thought she would) only ever had two accidents a day for the first few days and accidents are rare now, although we do have to remind her to come for a wee every few hours if she hasn’t been.
