Removing iud

I’m thinking about having my iud removed to try for another baby. Has anyone had experience with doing this? Is there a long waiting period before possibly conceiving? I’m also wanting it removed because my periods have been terribly long & very heavy, which isn’t my norm.

As soon as you get it you can conceive.

@Ashtyn I figured that was the answer. Haha I guess I’m gonna do this thing. I’ve only had it in for 4 months but hate the way my periods have been ever since. I also want another baby, so first step would be to have it removed & then see how things play out. We have 3 young kids & trying for our 4th just seems right & wrong for so many reason

I got mine taken out because it was hurting me…. Little did I know I was pregnant instantly almost!

My 2 girls are 16 months apart in age. So it will happen quick. Don’t be shocked 😅

@Ashtyn well I have age against me, 42. I have a 2.5yo, almost 4yo & a 8 month old. Time is working against me.

Oh okay, that’s understandable. Maybe if you decide you don’t want another baby, your OB can suggest some other birth control/ preventative as far as your periods not being so bad. I’m 27 with a 4 yr old, 3yr old & 1 yr old!

I got mine taken out and fell pregnant the following month, I’m 34 so didn’t think it would happen so quickly

@Rosie thanks for your message. I have mine schedule to be removed end of the month.

I’m now 5 months ttc after having IUD removed I suppose everyone is different
