New to the area

Hi girls, We are moving to Scotland from England this month and are currently here viewing properties to rent until we find our feet. We really have no clue about the areas and what is best for our family and would love your thoughts… My partners new job is in Milngavie so we are looking at around there/ bearsden or closer to the city/ west end. We have a 2.5 year old son so would like to be in an area I can meet other mums with toddlers his age at playgroups/ meet ups for coffee. Xx

Hiya! I moved from London to Glasgow in 2021 and it’s been great people are really friendly and nice and you will settle in quick! There are many toddler and mum groups which you can find leaflets of in libraries and if willing to pay I joined Gymboree in Southside and they have one around Milngavie if you look up their website and it really is a great playgroup, best of luck !

I grew up in Anniesland, close enough as well to milngavie if you can I’d look at moving within the catchment areas for Douglas academy/ Bearsden academy/ boclair academy/ Jordanhill school High school is obviously a while away for your wee one but these are some of the top schools in Scotland & within a reasonable drive to your husbands new job
