How do you know baby’s opposite? Thought they couldn’t find this out until birth! X
Ask for a blood test for the baby’s rh to be tested before having the injection (Think it needs to be done before 20weeks though). Very little point to have it done if baby is also negative. I am also negative and baby is too
I had my bloods taken at 12 weeks alongside the others as I’m O negative, they test the cells in your blood to see what the baby is x if your opposite then injections 28weeks to protect baby from you then 1 post birth to ensure your blood is suitable for future pregnancies Will be tested again in other pregnancies as each baby blood type is different some might need some not x
I’m negative and so is my husband so I don’t need to have it
I went to a and e last week as I had some bleeding over Christmas. I was given anti d as a precaution as I'm o negative. No side effects and it hurt less than the covid and flu vaccines
Yes I am and my trust doesn’t test the baby until after birth so will have to have it. It’s so painful 😅😫
@Kirsty it should depend on you and baby not the dad sweets?
Is it anything to worry about?
@Jessica I had a baby in 2023 and they said the new study has shown that if 2 parents are both negative then theirs no way a baby will be positive so I wasn’t given it at all and I won’t be having it this time aswell
I had one with my last pregnancy as I’m negative and she was positive. It’s fine, no side effects and didn’t really hurt either compared to some other Jabs!
I’m negative, baby is positive so needing the anti d injection Is your baby opposite? Xx
