Has anyone had a conversation with their kid/s about your family?

Have you found any useful info online or advice for balanced conversations with your kid/s about your family structure, in an age appropriate way? I'm keen to be honest with my little one, but in a neutral way. He's never met his father and I want to protect him as much as I can from feeling abandoned or rejected, as it isn't about him. Any suggestions?

I would love some tips on this too, one of my biggest future worries. Any advice so welcome đź’›

I found this on a family law site, which helped me: https://grantstephensfamilylaw.co.uk/news/explain-parental-absence-young-child/ And this link from ISPCC about talking to 4-8yo's about an absence parent: https://www.ispcc.ie/how-to-talk-to-your-child-4-8-about-an-absent-parent/ I feel like it's as much about me feeling prepared for the conversation, as the topic is something I want to try and be calm and not let my emotions about it cloud how I talk to my little one. Hope it helps 🤞
