Centrelink PPL Help please

Hi all, I had my first baby in March 2023, so have been on maternity leave since then. I'd been employed full time, so received the government Paid Parental Leave. I've been on unpaid maternity leave since then, and am due with my second in March 2025. I'm still employed by the company, but haven't received any pay from them or worked any days with them since Feb 2023. When submitting my new claim for PPL for this child (as I thought I should since I'm still employed?) It asks about working days within the year, which I have not done any. It says I may not be eligible for PPL. Does this mean I'm eligible for some other payment or that I'm not eligible for anything? Thank you! 😊 (Centrelink closed so can't call to ask them)

I believe you can apply for Family Tax Benefit and if you’re not working I think they will pay you a one time newborn supplement payment.

You have to have worked at least one hour per week for 10 of the 13 months before the child is born. I was also denied.

Would only be the family tax benefit. You need to work 10 months minimum prior including pregnancy also to be eligible for the PPL again. Not just days of employment needs to be working days.

If you’re partnered it would depend on his income to if you can apply for another payment. Have you used the payment finder and input all your details into that? It should give you a more accurate answer based on your personal circumstances.

You won’t be eligible for PLP, but depending on your combined household income, you may be eligible for Family Tax Benefits A&B.
