I heard they are great. See if your hospital offer them for free aka the ones that are in training. Not all hospitals have that option. Be sure to research the person you’re going with. All are not equipped so be sure to interview each person of interest. Doulas are great! Gratefully I had nurses who played the role of a doula. It was a game changer and I would definitely choose a doula next time for sure.

I got a doula once I found out I was pregnant. (The hospital I work for had a list they use for patients). She didn’t just work with me during labor but she was there during my whole pregnancy. We discussed my birth plan, breastfeeding tips and tricks, educated me on PPD/PPA and alternative interventions because I wanted an unmedicated birth. I highly recommend getting a doula, it takes the stress off of you and your partner (if you have one) during labor and allows you to focus on delivering your baby. I also liked that she took photos for me because that was the last thing on my husband’s or my mind that day. She still checks on me from time to time which is nice 😊

I did with both pregnancies and loved it would definitely recommend for support
