Insomnia

This pre-labour insomnia is getting ridiculous now! Slept 1-2.30am and have been awake ever since. Its now 6am! Good job husband is off work atm to look after our 3yo :S 39+4 now so I’m knackered anyway so you would think my body would allow me to have all the sleep i can get. Anyone going through the same and even better- have any tips to get more sleep?

Suffering from insomnia again 38 weeks. Been up for hours just pottering round. I don’t have a little one to look after so sounds like I have it easier. I have no tips but I’ve just stopped stressing about it, and sleep in the day if needed. X

I'm the same, usually up for between 2 and 5 hours in the night. I get up and do something useful around the house or summat enjoyable/relaxing like arts and crafts or watching tele. Then when I start to feel tired again, I go back to bed and try and get some more sleep, and I check in with myself during the day and go for a nap if I need it. Wish I could give any other tips than that. My doctor has prescribed me sleeping tablets to be taken sparingly, and I tried one last night but it didn't keep me asleep 🫠 xx

As you get closer to labour, your sleep will improve as the body starts to conserve energy 😊

Last night was my first night with insomnia, no matter what I did I could not sleep. I'm not sure if it's down to pregnancy or because I'm back to work today after the Christmas break. I'm 36+5 and hope it was a one off 😭
