blood clotting after birth
Hey everyone I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy on the 1st of January, had to have an episiotomy and forcep delivery in the end which I am obviously now in recovery from… today I went to the bathroom and there was quite a big blood clot on my pad, about 4 inches big I would say. Is this normal or should I get in contact with the midwife, I have an appointment anyway tomorrow so was thinking maybe just bringing it up then?

Completely normal! I hope that you recover well and take it easy please I had the same birth with my first. If you lay down the blood gathers and then comes out as a thick clot. I was told anything bigger than a £.50 piece I have to call them. I called them and they said it was nothing to worry about as it was completely normal due to the amount of blood transfusions I had and also laying down to recover x mine was the size of my palm
Probably is normal to be fair (I had a c section so can't say I have experience). I'd probably take a photo and show the midwife just in case.
