Hi @Dani, sending you hugs. I felt that too initially. I really wanted my BD to be on his son's birth certificate. I messaged him giving him date options and he wasn't willing to turn up. Over time I accepted it, and with that came the realisation that giving him parental responsibility and with it, a say over my son's and therefore also my life, wasn't something he deserved. x
It means freedom. If they’re on the birth certificate they can have all sorts of rights over where you live, if you meet someone new and want to move abroad later in life etc
