@Nasiba she’s been having a harder time at bedtime too but hasn’t been as bad the past two days. Still takes longer but not like it does for nap time. I was thinking maybe she doesn’t need a nap anymore but we tried to skip it 3-4 months ago and she was just overtired and crabby by time it’s bed time so I’m not sure what to do lol
I think toddlers have a small sleep regression at this age and it's tempting to stop doing the naps. We had the same thing happen, naps were taking ages, but we persevered and tried reframing it as quiet time instead, so she'd know it was still time for her to be quiet and stay in her crib. We even used a kids countdown timer so she knew once it rang she could come out of the crib. After doing that for a few days, she started accepting the quiet time and started falling asleep again during nap time and since then most of her naps come easily 👌
Nap schedule could change due to age .
Same! I had my baby boy in august and ever since my daughter’s bedtime and nap time has gone way downhill and she’s always been a good sleeper. I think it’s a mix of a normal sleep regression at this age AND having a new baby in the house. I’ve been doing the quiet time thing mentioned and also will skip naps every once in a while if she doesn’t seem sleepy at all. That seems to help a little. I also will cuddle her after the baby is asleep and she seems to fall asleep a little faster but I just started that a few days ago so idk if that will be sustainable. I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I’ve been going crazy over here.
Like what? My daughter used to stay asleep all night and would fall asleep within 10-30 mins tops. Now it takes hours to get her down for naps and bedtime and she wakes up 2-4 times a night (different times than the baby) so I’m up like 6-8 times a night with her or with the baby. It’s exhausting. 😮💨
My 2.5-year-old did the same thing. Both nap and bedtime used to take 2-3 hours to fall asleep. I decided to cut the nap. It was the best decision. Maybe your daughter needs to skip a nap, too.
