I’m going to tell my friends I’m doing Dry January x
I had a similar situation last night and went out for dinner with my friends. I said I was doing Dry January although I’m not sure if they believed me because I love a wine 🙈🤣
I’d just ask for the non-alcoholic versions! Do they know you’re trying? Could you say you’re trying to look after yourself and not drinking at the moment to try and take care of your health. Or the classic dry jan / medication!
Possibly offer to be designated driver?
Thank you for your responses, I think I’m going to have to go with asking for non alcoholic. I don’t think the dry January will work unfortunately 😅
You could try saying you’re on antibiotics and not allowed to drink with them ?

Could you say you’ve committed to dry January this year but still wanted to hang out? Or have a word with the waiter/manager when you come in that every time you get a drink you want it to be nosecco or 0%? But ask them to be discreet?
