Breastfeeding

Hi all so I had my beautiful baby girl 1week and 4days ago she was born at 36weeks 5days so technically she was technically 2 days premature she struggled with feeding in the hospital and when we got home but she’s started to gain weight back but I’m struggling with the night feeds trying to wake up at different times in the night and still get a hr or so in between is almost impossible I have slept through my alarm and when I wake up sometimes I’m a hr late feeding her and I feel awful she doesn’t cry or wake up in the nights but I know she’s hungry anyone have any advice on ways to train my body to wake up I sleep during the day when my partner is watching her

I wouldn’t worry about timings, my boy is nearly 3 weeks old and when he’s hungry he’ll tell us!

As long as they're putting on weight I wouldn't stress about setting alarms for feeding her! They generally need to be fed every 4-6 hours in the early days as a maximum amount of time to leave them, some feed more often than that, especially at the start whilst they're cluster feeding and developing but they'll let you know when they're hungry! My 1st would feed every 1.5hrs to start, it was exhausting and had terrible reflux then too so had to be held upright after each feed for half an hour so had to take shifts holding him with my husband! But then my 2nd would have a quick feed and then was fine for another 3 hours or so in the nights! Try not to stress yourself out about it, you'll both fall into a natural routine 💓

I would agree with the other moms, don’t put an alarm to wake up, your baby will wake up naturally when she is hungry and will gain the weight. Give your body a rest, it’s a marathon !
