Baby not accepting medication

I have an 8 month old who has recently started to deny any oral syringe or spoon with medication. She won’t take Calpol or anything. She’s been prescribed liquid antibiotics and laxatives but getting her to take them is a mission. She clenches her jaw shut and shakes her head and tries to fight it away with her whole body. I am really lost on how to get her to co operate. It came out of nowhere, and it takes 2 people to get her to take the syringe with the medication. Any advice? I just don’t want her to keep denying it when she needs it, especially in the future as well x

My son who's 4 months does that we found out if we use something they like aka a bottle give them the bottle them put the medicine through the side of the bottle it has always worked for me

She’s not really taking the bottle at the moment, I know it works so well with other babies but she literally will stop using the bottle if she knows. I tried to mix it in with her yogurt on the spoon and she has now stopped accepting it 😩

My daughter did this too! We found making her laugh or doing something to open her mouth would distract her and then quickly put the syringe in

My daughter is the same. She usually loves the syringe when she’s well but as soon as she’s poorly, she hates it! As awful as it sounds, I had to hold down my daughter when she was 10 months to give her her antibiotics for when she had RSV. It’s awful but it’s the only way she has the medicine. It’s for her benefit so even though I feel awful, I’m glad she was able to have it! X

Try to pretend play… I make it seem it’s going in my mouth and I tell my daughter that’s it’s yummy and then once I see she is laughing I quick put a little at a time . It can be rough when then don’t want to cooperate

Does she use a pacifier? If so try a nipple let her suck on it as if its a paci then put the med through the nipple. Thats what we do for ours. Or mix it with their formula a small amount though
