@Claire they’re bringing me up at 15 weeks for an appointment, not sure if you need a shot then. But googled it , and says if you have R negative in your second pregnancy it can cause your body to reject it
Please don’t worry I am negative and both my babies have been positive. No problems you just have to get your anti - d injections before and after baby is born. Both my girls are very healthy and pregnancies were normal.
I never heard of that . And both baby and me was r negative on first baby and second baby is a postive . I know you may need an injections at 28 weeks . And if you have any trips or falls they say let hosptial know as they may need to give an injection . Depending what hosptial you are at there should be. RHD clinic there that can answer your questions. :) xx
Am negative and both of mine are positive, you just have an injection I can’t remember the exact amount of weeks and the one after giving birth! Both of my pregnancies and births were fine x
I’ve had 3 babies and all of mine have been positive and I am negative. It has never caused any issues, you will receive a blood test to check bloods and then you get an injection around 28 weeks which is an anti d to protect the baby. If you have any severe impact on your stomach such as a fall you will just go to triage to receive another dose of anti d which I know as I had a car crash which resulted in force to my stomach so had another injection and all was fine. Delivered all 3 of my babies naturally with no issues x
I am negative and both babies of mine are positive. I had anti d shot at 28 weeks pregnant & after birth. Do not worry xx
I’m neg and both my boys are +. It only causes complications in second or more pregnancies if you had a previous pregnancy where you would have experienced a sensitisation event and not had your anti d injections, as you would have had a chance of developing antibodies. If in a previous pregnancy your baby was negative, or + but you had your anti d injections as needed, there’s nothing to be worried about.
I am negative currently pregnant with baby no 3. Had the anti d with both my babies during pregnancy but didn’t need it after birth as they are also negative. Will have the anti d again at around 25/28 weeks I believe and then again when baby is born if baby is positive. What can cause problems is if the babies blood mixes with yours if baby is positive anti d protects you and baby from this happening which is why you have it again after birth too if baby is positive. As long as you have your anti d you and baby will be fine.
midwife here. Please don’t try to worry, many women have this and have healthy pregnancies, we offered anti-D injections at certain points in your pregnancy as a precaution however it is very unlikely for your blood and baby’s blood to ever mix x
Your body will only reject it if you’ve not had your anti d injections with your previous pregnancies. I’ve had 3 babies, my first 2 were also negative and my third was positive so needed to have the anti d afterwards. Please don’t worry xx
Previous pregnancy I did have the anti D injection but not after birth. Would that make any difference x
You won’t have had it after birth because your baby will have been negative. If your baby was positive you would have needed to have it after birth. It’s all about baby’s positive blood passing into your blood stream potentially and then your body rejecting it which is why you’d then need the injection after birth❤️ xxx
It can only cause issues if you didt have the anti d and baby was rhesus positive the first time. If you had the anti D or baby was rhesus negative first time there no more risk second time
I'm in the same boat, am rhesus negative and pregnant with my second. Just found out today second baby is rhesus positive and first baby was too. Reassuring to read these responses as Google gave me a scare! X
I am negative and the baby is postive . So need the Injections ar 28 weeks second baby . My first one was negative and so was I so didnt need extra precautions. What are you worried about ?
