Keep trying, he will be interested soon! You’re doing great!
Have u tried banana
@Nestlē✨ the average age kids start solids is between 4-6 months. No kid should be starting solids at 12 months. That’s way too late. There’s a reason why doctors start them early
im going thru this too with my 7 month old. confused because i have 2 other kids that jumped for solid food and didnt even want puree
Oh my gosh you’re so okay! My son wouldn’t eat food for months after trying and one day he just did. Try and stay calm with food and trust yourself and your baby. You got this mama ❤️❤️
Just try every day, he will get into it eventually. You’re doing great. If you’re super worried you can talk to his dr. My son was on formula, but you can use formula or breast milk, and use that to make the baby oatmeal, I used earths best. They told me babies like it because it tastes like the milk they’re use to since you make it with milk and not water. ❤️ it worked well for us. Just stay away from rice cereal, it’s been proven to have no nutritional value and lots of heavy metals.
@Jasmine dude, stop. Every kid does things on their own time. Milk is their PREDOMINANT sustenance until they’re 1. The only reason they suggest kids start solids at 6m is because their iron levels start depleting, but trust me her baby and most babies will be just fine. As long as he is hitting weight milestones all is good.
@Kayla dude. Not true lol - I suggest you ask your doctor the next time you see them about it if that’s what you think. If you can’t wait that long google is also free!
@Jasmine you should do more research on that lol. doctors are NOT the end all be all 🤦🏽♀️ especially when it comes to western medicine practices 🥴
@Nestlē✨ I have done tons of research LOL my daughter is half Korean, born in korea. Lived there for years, and China - then we moved back to Canada, I’ve researched a lot considered my daughter was a nice baby and I wanted to make sure. Don’t think I haven’t hence why I’m speaking about it. My mom, aunt, sister, great aunt are also all nurses and will happily listen to them!
@Nestlē✨ I can absolutely tell you that in Asia, they go by very different standards and will feed 6 month olds full sized amounts like whole eggs and cucumber, compared to Canada where they believe in baby bite sizes - I’m happy to share I’ve done more research then most
@Jasmine okay but you’re not a Dr or nutritionist and your opinion doesn’t mean fact. But cool story.
@Kayla so you know my job? Please tell me more about what I do and don’t do for work LOL - Lol my family is and I’m happy to listen to them. As I said above, all nurses and all very educated and give great advice !
@Kayla my daughter was a Nicu baby and had a nutritionist we also took great advice from, my partners brother is a PT and nutritionist - so is what I learned from all these people invalid? lol or you going to come up with more excuses why you neglected to follow doctor recommended feeding starting ages.

I froze my bananas and cut them into sticks so he can grab them for fun. Try without the spoon maybe?
@Jasmine my kid has been eating since 5 months, soooo good job assuming. Furthermore, those are the people around you’s accomplishments. It’s a weird flex tbh.
@Kayla saying that I’ve learned from them? Lol how’s that a bad thing? Because I’m willing to learning and wanting to learn things? Because I’m proud of them for where they are? Okay? Also you can be in the same career as some one and still constantly learn new things lol you sound bitter lol Yet you still don’t know what I do for work so yet here you continue to assume LOL
@Jasmine I mean apparently you’re here to mom shame and be contrary to the ENTIRE thread of people who are actually loving mothers who give others grace. Unfortunately you missed that train. Bitter? Nah. Salty? Yes. Moms need to lift other mothers up. This 💩 is hard enough as it is, and if her child doesn’t eat until they’re a year old they will literally be fine with milk it’s just not ideal.
@Kayla yes. Completely fine. That’s why doctors say to start at 6 months instead of 12 months. All I said was 12 months wasn’t a normal age to start solids and that drs tell you an age to start for a reason and it’s not just for the Iron- y’all are the ones who took it and ran with it and made it a bigger deal LOL
@Jasmine saying you’ve done more research than most makes you look even more ignorant than before lol if you’ve done so much research, you should know there is abundant information on starting solids later than 4-6 months. & that health & knowledge goes way beyond doctors & nurses.
@Kayla it’s not shaming when I’m stating literal facts so 🤷♀️
@Nestlē✨ I’m aware but I’m not going to go off on all that and list it here - I don’t have all the time in the world to go over everything, I’m giving what’s relevant to this particular situation.
@Nestlē✨ so not doing enough research, I’d be wrong, but having the resources in my life and doing my research after being told to also makes me wrong? lol yall need to medicate for the weird swings you’re pushing here lol
Bro this debating in here is dumb. The medical field is a scam and I wouldn’t trust everything they say. I agree stay away from the cereal snacks and processed carbs. I’m personally ally doing baby led weaning but only because my baby showed interest. The first teeth that come in are called milk teeth because at that point that’s pretty much all they should be having. Unless you have any behavior or physical concerns I wouldn’t worry.
@Bella Gerry 😂😂 everyone’s so wrong here I feel bad for their kids
Everyone’s doing their best & I really appreciate the feedback. I will & do keep trying. I’m sure he will be interested sooner than later. :)
Honestly, my son was like that until he turned one then he started eating
it’s ok for him to still only drink milk at 7 months. a lot of kids don’t start solids until 12 months. my second kid wasn’t into solids until around 9 months. i started with fruit smoothies, then veggie purées & went from there. now she eats pretty much anything i give her lol she’s not picky at all
