Mine is all out of pocket
No, it is extremely unlikely to be covered. Vasectomy reversal should be cheaper than IVF though, I think.
Thanks so much 🫠. How much would you say it could cost? Like an approx
IVF isn’t typically covered if there have been procedures done such as tubal ligation or a vasectomy. My insurance only covered IVF if I was diagnosed infertile, no procedures to prevent pregnancy had previously been completed, and only after completing 5 IUIs ( I was able to get around the 5 IUIs and only completed 2 because I was then diagnosed with endo on top of my PCOS so IVF became my only option)
IVF medications can be bundled (which is usually cheaper) at Freedom Fertility Pharmacy I got mine for $2300 since insurance doesn’t cover the medications.
@• M a r i a • probably at least 5k! If not significantly more… I would call your insurance and explain your situation. They can give you estimates and coverage options. CNY fertility can do IVF plus meds for under 7k. I pursued this option myself so that I didn’t have to take out a 20+k loan that my local clinic quoted 🙃
IVF was almost completely covered for us but we did have to show that we did all of the proper testing and a diagnoses so I’m not sure if a vasectomy would qualify.
My IVF was covered but my job provided fertility insurance if you used their insurance. We now have my husbands insurance and it is not covered, although they did cover my estrogen for my transfer.
I would just call you insurance. In general, it’s not typically covered for any reason. CNY fertility just opened a clinic in Boston, however, that you should check out!
