Formula.

Morning all 😊 I still haven't quite decided how I'll be feeding yet but had a question. On the NHS hospital bag list, they don't have formula. Do they provide that there or do you take your own? With my first I was adamant I was BF so never took any or thought about it to be honest. But after it not working out for us when we got home I've still not decided if I'll try again or not so just trying to cover all options x

I think most hospitals will provide you with a formula in a pinch but it's probably best to take some ready made bottles if you're considering formula feeding. I know they make ready made bottles with teats - seems like the most practical way to do it to avoid having to sterilise bottles etc (although hospitals should provide facilities to do it). Best thing to do would be to give your maternity ward a call and ask xx

I’ve been told you need to take your own. I’ve seen in Asda there’s already pre made bottles which is handy for just giving birth.

Thank you both for replying. I had thought about getting the ready made ones if that's what I decide to do but with it not being on the list just thought I'd ask. Thanks again x

You need to take your own formula

I was sure I would BF with my first and actually it didn't work out well.. I still managed the first few days so I was ok in hospital but I still took ready made formula with just in case, there are some that come in really small bottles with the sterilised teat so you don't need to bring bottles with you as well
