Piriton for baby on long flight

We’re flying to Australia next week from UK with an 11 month old (very anxious about this but husbands family are out there). A colleague recommended giving piriton antihistamines to baby to make them drowsy (these say 1+ years on them) he said they do it with their kids and his wife is a midwife. Not sure how I feel about this, does anyone else have any experience with this and /or any tips for long haul with an 11m old?

Personally I wouldn’t do it but if it says 1+ on the packet then it won’t cause any harm as a one off x

We are doing the same journey in May but our LO will be 18 months. Regardless of the age thing I don’t think I would purposely make them drowsy but that’s just my opinion I’m sure lots of others have & its worked out. If you do do it update us if you recommend! Best of luck 😊

We had piriton prescribed before 1 and it didn’t make our child drowsy

Definitely not.

I flew with my 5m old from Australia to Europe and it was all fine… I personally would not give drugs. Are you flying via Singapore? Bassinet ordered? Keep your schedule, have things the baby knows, be relaxed, get hearing protection like ear muffs to reduce stress for bubs, …

Erm no?😅😅😅

Thank you for the helpful and non judgemental comments from most of you ❤️
