Does anyone not enjoy homemaking?

I’m a SAHM trying to accept and appreciate my life as it is. I know some people have it harder. But my husband is always asking me if I ever want to “decorate the house more” and make it look nicer, (his mom did that growing up), but the truth is even if he gave me an adequate budget for that I would actually rather throw things away more than I would want to buy and use decorations. I literally don’t care at all. I make sure our house is livable and clean, there’s art on the walls, my daughter has many toys all within her reach. But like I’m not interested in doing more than that and I don’t want to be made to feel bad about it. Anyone else get it?

If there’s couches, coffee table, chairs, and essentials we need it’s enough for me. My littles like to pull anything and everything in sight down so just cbf with “decorating” as I’ll have to fix it at least 20x a day

I like the way decorated homes look but it's not a skill I possess or a passion of mine in any way. Unless you count the Christmas tree.

But I want our house to be filled with things that have meaning or we just truly love so I don't see the purpose of buying things to just buy them.

Having a candle or two throughout the house and a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table make all the difference for me! If you’re looking for something easy to make him feel that sense of homey-ness lol but make him supply the budget for it ofc I actually love home making but right now in my third trimester I just have no energy to keep up with it, and it’s making me kinda energy spiral even worse just looking around and feeling like the house is cluttered always and not put together lol

Does he mean he wants you to make your house look like something from IG? My husband does all the painting and decorating. We discuss it together but then he does it. I do like to make sure the house stays clean and tidy and I have some fun bits around but nah, truth is I haven’t got time for all that!!

I get overwhelmed by too much “stuff” so my house stays really minimal. Basically just furniture so I feel you!
