How do I know if baby is teething?

My baby will be 3 months old in 10 days. Last night he was very fussy and up multiple times (not normal he’s slept through the night since day 1). And today he has been having big crying fits that last about an hour lots of drooling and lots of chewing on hands and clothes. Not even latching him will calm him, he’s needed lots of chest to chest cuddles(also not normal for him). I don’t see any signs of teeth or anything and he doesn’t have any ~sick~ symptoms so idk.

Hi mama 👋 in my professional opinion I have a few ideas. Infants will explore with their sensiormotorship which is a lot of sensory in/output. So babies putting their hands or objects in their mouth is so on par for development. However your baby is fussy & not sleeping at night suddenly.. I want to say this could be a rapid growth period for baby. "Growing pains" is real. Does baby have a temperature? I'm sure not like you said baby doesn't sound or look sick ❤️ so for periods where your baby or child seem to be in pain, I would first talk to their doctor, but administering Tylenol for 3 nights/ when they would be in pain from growing, is safe to do. Especially if this is really hard on them. However, this could be a cold coming on, baby could be in slight discomfort, there are a handful of viruses floating currently :/ But also, could it possibly be diet? Sounds like baby is EBF? You go mama!!! 👒 off to you ❤️ Those are all of my professional outside opinions & hope any of it helps truly.

Oh & sorry, babies can teeth from 3 months of age up until they are little over 2.5 years old!! 2 year molars 😉

He or she is drooling, sticking his or her hands in her mouth, teething on anything and everything, extra fussy, might even have an ear infection or flu like symptoms
