Anti D

Please give me your positive stories!!! I have just found out my baby is a positive blood type and I’m negative so will need to have the anti D. I’m slightly freaking out as I googled stuff and clearly shouldn’t have🤦🏼‍♀️ My daughter was negative so never really looked into in my last pregnancy.. please tell me I’m over reacting and there’s nothing to worry about😢

I was rh positive and lo was negative I was just given anti d after birth, also if any trauma that could cause internal bleeding you can go to the hospital for anti d within a 72 hour window, I accidentally walked into the side of a surface at work wasn’t any marks or bruises and the midwife said I won’t need anti d, slightly opposite to yours but feel they must be similar xx

Also I think I was given anti d between 20/30 weeks mark, can’t remember exactly when x

It’s to help both you and baby because your blood/cells will fight each other and can cause issues

I’m O- blood type with my second pregnancy. Each time I’ve gotten the Rhogam shot about 28 weeks and then get it again after birth if my baby comes out with positive blood type. My first daughter came out with positive blood type so they just gave me the shot in my IV and nothing bad ever happened

I had my injection at 28 weeks, pretty quick and simple no side effects. But if you do fall or bleed majorly( from like a cut ) then you need to go to hospital and get another injection.

I’m negative and my daughter is positive, it’s really no big deal, I had the anti-d at 28 weeks, and then again after she was born. I know some people say it hurts, I thought it was fine, no worse than a normal injection personally. If you have any bleeding at any point you just have to pop in for another anti-d at that time I believe, but I never had to do that as I had no bleeding.

Very very common. You'll be okay 😊
