Ectopic pregnancy

I was recently misdiagnosed as having a miscarriage and sent home by the hospital. A week later I returned as tests were still positive and the bleeding was ongoing, pain was worse. I was then admitted and rushed for an emergency scan where they found a left tubal ectopic which I had carried to 8 weeks causing my tube to rupture and cause internal bleeding. I had emergency surgery 2 days ago to remove my left tube, thankfully they saved my ovary, they said my right tube and womb both look healthy. I am struggling so much emotionally and physically I am struggling f to see the light at the end of the tunnel 💔. Anyone been through anything similar and would like to share their story? My heart aches for any woman who has had to experience this pain. Xx

Hi Ladies, we have a WhatsApp group where we all chat about mum and children stuff, drop me a message if you fancy joining us x

Hi Ellie, I’m so sorry you’ve been through this ❤️ I had an ectopic in July - found out whilst in agony on a work trip in Canada 🤦‍♀️ just wanted to say that I am now 4 weeks pregnant and so far my hcg levels look good so we’re confident this one is in the right place! So there’s lots of hope for after an ectopic 🫶🏼 hope you’re ok. Keep talking about it with friends and looking after yourself. Wishing you all the best xxx

So sorry you’re going through this. I went through this, this time last year. I was 6 weeks and my right tube ruptured so had to be removed. I’m yet to conceive again but have also been busy moving and changing jobs so timings not been great. However my friend has had a tube removed and has since has 2 healthy babies so it can happen and I have hope! Sending all the baby wishes to you xx

Hi Chloe, that’s amazing I’m so happy for you. I love hearing positive stories from other ladies after such traumatic experiences, there is light at the end of the tunnel. ❤️🌈 xxx

@Charlotte so sorry to hear this 😢. I wouldn’t wish this upon anyone it has been genuine hell. I keep reading a lot of stories about women going on to have healthy babies with 1 tube!! Hopefully we get ours xxx

Ellie sorry for ur lost, I went through an eptopic pregnancy back in August gave me mix throught and was tough. I didn't need the op as my body naturally got rid off it at 7 wks I ad to keep going in for 14 days for blood test and scan to make sure it was desolving. Hugs to u

My hearts breaking reading this, I know the exact feeling of not being able to see the light. I used to read stories of people getting pregnant straight away after tube removal etc and just feel like that would never be me. My mental health was so bad regarding my fertility after my ectopic pregnancy and tube removal. I had right tube removed on NYE 2022. My babies due date (jul 2023) came and went and I honestly thought my time would never come. We made an appointment with a private fertility clinic and on the same day I found out I was pregnant (Nov 2023), I now have my baby boy. I still think my ectopic was the hardest point in my life and it’s so hard as you have so many questions about the future. I won’t say “your time will come/you will get your baby etc” as I knew I hated reading it!!! But time does heal, focus on yourself and mental health for the moment and don’t be scared. If you even want to talk just send me a message. So sorry for what you have been though 🩷

On another note, that right tube you have will put in the work!! It picks up from both ovaries so won’t matter where you ovulate from. My ectopic was in right tube but left ovary was the one that released the egg. With my baby boy my left tube (only one left) picked up from the right ovary so I’m convinced the tubes just do what they want 🤣🤣

Yep! Same as you. But mine didn't rupture, I had mine taken out. This was Feb last year and early aug I conceived the baby I currently 22 weeks pregnant with and I'm 40 in april. Don't give up hope, you have just as much chance with a healthy one tube as you do with two tubes!

@Rachel I feel exactly the same I’m having panic attacks I can’t sleep I’m trying to digest everything it’s a lot. I’m so glad you managed to conceive again… I think we’re just programmed to think the worst and presume surely if we only have 1 tube our chances decrease by 50%? The doctor did say the same thing though that the other tube will pick the eggs up from the other ovary! Thank you ❤️ xxx

@Kim oh that’s amazing news!! Congrats lovely 🥰❤️ xxx

@Ellie I was the same, I ended up in hospital with panic attacks within the months after the ectopic! The dr told me that too and I thought he was lying just to make me feel better 🤣 we are our own worst enemy, look after yourself lovely 🥰 hope you are recovering well xx

Hello, I am so sorry that your going through this. I had a similar thing happen to me. I started bleeding at home and was diagnosed at the hospital as having a miscarriage and was told to go home, during that week I had a dull ache in my left shoulder that just didn't want to go away, the GP diagnosed it as ligament pain but two days later I ruptured and needed emergency surgery to remove my left tube. I felt so hurt that I lost my baby ( carried to 7 weeks) and also that both the hospital and GP wouldn't listen to me when I knew my body more. This was in April 2021. I now have a little girl who is now 14 months. Don't give up hope there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Sending you the best x
