@Sarah thank you! With my first I didn’t have TikTok so I didn’t even know that it was a thing! 😂 just seeing it now has got me thinking, should I be doing it. I don’t have my first appointment until 8 weeks with a midwife and I was happy before to wait for that! X
Id wait for the midwife appointment, no point stressing yourself out unnecessarily! 💕
Congratulations! 🥰 💛 I completely get you! I’m also pregnant, and since getting Peanut, I joined the ‘Trying to Conceive’ group – big mistake! Everyone was constantly posting about daily tests (sometimes even multiple tests a day), and that’s when I realised this was a whole thing. It became so stressful worrying about whether the lines were getting darker, and on top of that, there were loads of posts about sad stories – which just added to the anxiety). With my first baby, I only took two tests, and honestly, my first trimester was so much calmer and less stressful.
Same, I took one test for each pregnancy, then got it confirmed by my doctor who said I was already 2 months pregnant. Social media can make us doubt ourselves. There's nothing to be gained by doing multiple tests. I would wait to speak to a Dr. Xx
@Nora congratulations to you too! 🥰 this is exactly the same as me! I had none of this in my first pregnancy. It just shows how social media can sometimes be a negative, unlocked a whole heap of worries I didn’t have before 😢think I’m just going to stay in my bubble and switch off from it all! X
Also, if you keep testing there’s a thing called ‘the hook affect’ - I’ll let you google it properly, but it basically means after 5/6weeks your lines can start to fade, which just causes extra worry. Congrats xx
I had a miscarriage before my March 2023 baby, so I did do a clear blue every week to make sure it went from 1-2 2/3 and 3+ just cause I’d googled and got in my own head x
First of, congratulations 🎉❤️ These Tik Tok videos are for views/likes etc, so don't waste your money on tests unnecessarily. I gave birth abroad so not totally sure the procedure in the UK, maybe get it confirmed at your GP and ask them for first trimester health tips etc. xx
