Baby Pods/Nests

Hi ladies! I was just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on baby pods/nests? I know quite a few people that have used them and I see them online frequently however I also read one article mentioning that they aren’t safe or recommended? Any insights would be great! Thank you 💕

I think they’re a waste of time personally we never had one. They’re very unsafe for unsupervised sleep so I didn’t really see the point in them? When baby is small they’ll likely just want to contact nap and not be laid down anyway x

It was actually a godsend for me personally, I never left her unsupervised but when she was a newborn me and my fiancé would do it in shifts, she’d get back to sleep easily back in there and I’d stay awake until it was my turn to sleep 🤣x

I agree with @Liv ! Godsend! We are always watching the baby when he sleeps in it and he just loves it! Falls asleep in seconds and I can sit next to him on the couch and watch some TV or read a book.

It was our most used item the first three months. We had the nest on the sofa and we could put our LO down for a few minutes at a time when we’re doing chores or having breakfast. He sometimes used to fall asleep there which was fine if one of us was in the room or we just transferred him to the crib. any baby item can be unsafe when used unwisely and vise versa, depends on you and the baby xx

Every midwife/ health visitor advised against them. I used mine on the sofa for the first 2 months just when baby was next to me or in the middle of the bed when I got a shower before she could move. I think as long as you’re always with baby then they can be great but not to be left alone to sleep for long periods etc. I used it a couple of nights during the witching hours as it was the only thing that would settle baby in crib. But then I’d take baby out when I was going to sleep myself x

I used them on my sofa for until when he started rolling/ and also used it for transitioning to the crib from bassinet. It was great for me. Ofcourse it is banned in many countries but you can use it with supervision. The bumpers at the sides of the nest help contain your baby within and it's great to also carry him around in it. I also used it in my pack and play for a bit. Basically, I got him used to it on the couch and later used it to transition to crib or packnplay
