My daughter had this issue real bad, especially since she was a Premie. So we tried it ALL. -Doc gave us the ok to giv her prune juice diluted with water (roughly 1oz of juice and water) -there’s mommy’s bliss constipation ease but double check the label if you go this route. With young babies a lot of em only need a little bit to go, not full doses. -and then if you wanna go old school and desperate..definitely used in the OG black community..you can try lite Karo Syrup..just a little bit and they’ll go 🫰🏾
We had the same.. we also went to the drs. It took a while but eventually he got the hang of it. It did take about 3 months though 😅 Infant dyschezia is a common condition that affects babies when they are learning to coordinate their muscles to have a bowel movement: Symptoms Babies with dyschezia may strain, cry, or grunt for up to 30 minutes before passing a soft stool. They may also appear red in the face.
We used to have grunting all night.. and his poops we’re always soft which meant it wasn’t constipation
Normal newborn behaviour I’m afraid. My son was the same but eventually got the hang of it. By 8-12 weeks I noticed a bigger improvement. If he’s going and it’s hard then it’s true constipation and the doctors need to see him but if it’s normal consistency then he’s just figuring his butt out bless him haha.
We have a WhatsApp group for mum’s to be and mums of all ages, drop me a message if any of you ladies want to join the chat, ask and help with advice x
So I’m holding his legs to help him do I continue to do this ? Or do I let him figure it out , I did try leave him to it but he didn’t poo for the whole day and cried and strained breaks my heart his little cries 😭
I'd suggest Mylicon. We give it to my son when he is having gas and constipation issues and it seems to help
