Baby gone off the bottle

My girl will not accept a bottle atm. Breast milk, formula... it doesn't matter what's in it, she is not having it. She used to be fine with them so I don't know what's changed. But today I left her with my mum and she did not feed for 5 hours because of this. She's nearly 5 months old. Any tips would be awesome. We've been using the pigeon wide neck bottles. X

Have you tried any other bottles? That's probably the best place to start. Otherwise, what about a sippy cup?

@Heather I've tried the avent bottle. But she won't even accept the teat in her mouth. She just turns her head and cries. Is she too young for a sippy cup? It's just annoying because if I can't find a way for other people to feed her, I can never be away from her lol

I'd try her with a sippy cup, or even an open cup if needs must. When she starts solids she'll be allowed water (from sippy/open cups!) so there is no harm trying with milk, hopefully break the negative bottle association! X

I went through the same thing with my girl at this exact age! She kept getting distracted and when she would drink, it’ll be with a gap of 3-4hours and only 100-120ml. I use the same bottles, with the slim ones, I noticed she was more interested what we were eating. This lasted for about 8-10days then she went back to normal.. Unfortunately our gp didn’t help much, suggested we keep her away from distractions when feeding and introduce solids but I wasn’t ready. So we kept trying, would stop when she’s frustrated and try again when she’s in a playful mood.. She lost some weight during this time too, but after that went back to normal with her feeds.. Have you tried breastfeeding?

Following for some advice. Going through the same atm. My LO was fine with bottles until recently. She just doesn't want to drink from the bottle no matter how hungry she is 😟

My son rejected the bottle at 4 months and never took it again despite many attempts. It’s tough, but once we started weaning at 6 months it all got a bit easier. You can try a beaker or open cup.
