Potty!

Has anyone bought a potty yet just for exposure, not to actually start toilet training yet?!

Yes!

@Lewa ahh glad I’m not the only one! I got tempted by the ones in Aldi today so I just picked it up, I don’t mind if it’s just for her toy babies at the moment but at least she can be around it! X

Yes

We've been popping our LO on a potty since he could sit up so he knew what it was, big celebrations when he has a wee in it! Got the green and white ikea one!

@Tasha that’s amazing! How often do you sit him on it?

Yes.. but he currently sits on it backwards and tries to ride it like a horse🤣

@Yasmin this really made me laugh🤣🤣🤣 how often does he sit on it?

Generally after each nap until he went down to two and now it's most nappy changes. He's not walking yet but as soon as he is operation potty trading starts!

I actually picked up an Aldi potty today on the big shop - never too early for them to get used to 'their' toilet being in the bathroom. We'll see how sitting goes 🤣

Multiple times a day but like I say not for its intended purpose 😂 we are going to start trying to get him to sit on it with his nappy off and see what happens though now we’ve made friends with it hahaha

Got one with flashing noisy flush button for 1st bday as he was obsessed with our loo since crawling and we hoped he would play with that instead while we pottied. He loves it but interest in loo remains far bigger. 1 week after bday I had to get a urine sample from him for gp so put him on and it was totally OK so I have been doing easy catches since then (after each wake and being taken out of high chair or pram or when i get intuition). Since end of Nov caught 1-6 wees every day. Also got 4 poos in Nov but none since then as he shows no sign and has no poop schedule 😅

Also like tasha do nappy change standing up in the bathroom and most of the time when I take the nappy off he goes and sits down but sometimes I can see he doesn't need a wee. Still I'm v happy! Reading the books by Andrea olson on how to continue as this is basically late start EC

Nope!

We've been putting lo on the potty since she could sit up. We catch all poos and quite a few wees. Definitely recommend getting them used to it early. For us it's meant really low pressure and she loves sitting on it while we read or play with some toys. We've also taught her the sign for potty so she asks to go which is really helpful xx
