Circumcision

Following because I'm getting my son circumcised when he's born

Following because I plan to circumcise but would love to know experiences!

i planned on doing it at the hospital but they said they couldn’t because he had an “auto circumcision”

My son was circumcised at the doctors office the hospitals don't do it much anymore where I live... they gave my son a pacifier dipped in sugar water so he didn't even cry.. the healing process however it took a week and alot of aquafora... it healed great no problems

OP, I’m curious where you’re located because circumcision seems to be a whole different ball game depending on where you are! As a mom, I’m not sure I’m ready for the front-row seat at that event, so I’m happily passing the decision (and the visuals) over to Dad 😅

All of mine were done at the hospital. No issues

@Kitty ☀️🌺 Arizona. I left the decision up to my hubby and he wants our boy to be circumcised at the hospital. I figured that's a dad decision and support the decision he makes! But I have heard that if the baby is too shocked by it, it can disrupt breastfeeding and that has me really nervous because I want to EBF.

I had my son done, they wouldn’t let me go with, they disregarded my wishes of no pacifier, he healed quickly though. Idk if I’ll do it again tho that shit made me want to cry 😅

@Bella see my only concern is my son going out of my sight, with our daughter she had me or her father with her at all times. Did they walk you thru what they did at all?

@Meghan Nope, the doctor refused to tell me what he planned to do, or did. He refused to let me or anyone else go back with my son. Idk what he did with my son while alone with him. That was the worst part but they did it right after birth so I was no fully aware so I didn’t fight it like I should have

Did mine at the hospital. He was sleeping peacefully by the time he returned. Only took about a hr (im not a helicopter momma so I took a nice nap) . Blood looked scary the first few days of changing him but it was okay . One week later its healing up nicely and dont bleed at all unless rubbed up against. Constant a&d ointment worked like a charm 🙌🏼

Following. Im excited to get my son circumcised in the hospital after I give birth. I just want know the experience.

@Skyraven thank you. I hear it's a pleasant experience. I understand why I can't be there or the Father. I do wish they allowed parents in the back of dental office, but maybe I'm missing something. 🙂 My daughter seems to love the dentist. My Mom takes her for now so I don't have the details on appointments.
