TTC after ectopic
Found out last week that I have an ectopic pregnancy. With several scans and blood the doctors have said that my ectopic should naturally pass. Two days ago my blood is now showing that the HCG is beginning to decrease and the embryo is not growing. I’m just wondering what I should expect when I naturally pass an ectopic? Would it be heavy period bleeding or heavy like a miscarriage bleed? I’ve had miscarriage at 9 weeks and that was the worst experience of my life!!!!
Also, I was wondering after how long did people start TTC again? And did their periods change? Did they carry on ovulating regularly? Did people fall pregnant easily after an ectopic? I’m just really anxious now, this is my 3rd loss in one year I just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I’m so sorry for your loss, that’s so very hard. Unfortunately I can’t offer anything too insightful as I’ve had to have my tube removed along with the baby. My period came back around 6 weeks after surgery and I seem to be ovulating normally, but my cycles tend to be longer. The whole ordeal has also halved my AMH levels so personally I have been very unlucky, but I think the fact that your body has processed naturally is a better position to be. There are plenty of folks, in fact most women that I know who have had ectopics that have gone on to conceive and have a baby within a couple of years from the ectopic, so I wouldn’t give up hope! You should follow the doctors advice but I think you can start trying as soon as you get your first cycle. That was the advice I had after surgery, but I gave it 3 months anyway. If you had methotrexate you would have to wait for 3 months, but otherwise there are no contraindications to start trying again asap. Sending love and healing xx
