Q for those who've had a cesarean with no complications

How long was your hospital stay post surgery? I know it's different for everyone/ each NHS practice do their own thing, but curious to know! I had my pre op today ready for my elective on Tues afternoon, and they said if all goes well I can be coming home on Weds afternoon. It took me by surprise as I was expecting it to be more like Thurs morning (with my first cesarean I was in for 36hrs post surgery, which felt short as it was!). I'm Bradford based so will be giving birth at the BRI. Just interested to compare! x

Both sections had no complications. I had 2 nights for both which was perfect, got time to rest and recover, to shower, to get breastfeeding help and generally bond. It was actually nice to have one to one time with baby the same as baby 1 got as my toddler stayed with her grandma.

Had a section Sunday 5.30pm, was home Tuesday lunchtime. They were happy to discharge us on Monday afternoon but I wanted to stay in 1 extra night x

With my first I had my baby at 12:30 in the afternoon and left the following afternoon at 2 or 3pm. When I spoke to my midwife she said it should be the same, but if you have any issues with pain or feeding they’re happy for you to stay another night x

I had a C section at St James Leeds on 16th Dec. Was discharged 4 days later. Had a baby on Nicu so think my pain was worse cause I didn’t have the oxytocin bubble so stayed for 4 days as I was still on the hard stuff on day 4!

Thanks everyone, that's reassuring that a second night should be an option if I feel like I need it! x

I had mine Saturday and was told I’d be out Sunday but was home Monday (2 nights) as obv is dependant on bloods etc. x

I had a C-section under general anaesthetic on a Monday morning and went home Tuesday evening x
