Next size car seat

Is anyone else March 24 baby still in their car seat they had as a newborn? We have the Cybex Cloud T. I know it says up to 2 years, or upto 87cm in length or 13kg in weight - he isn’t any of these but lots of people I know have already sized up. It’s making me wonder if I should be too?

I’d max that out, save money whilst he is still growing then get an ERF seat that’s up to 25 or 36kg with a 125cm height. Something like a axkid minikid, besafe or britax maxsafe. That will keep him safe rear facing till over 5 likely. There is a good FB with stock list called ERF car seat safety xx

My baby is 10 months and we’ve just moved her up we had the cybex cloud t with the 360 rotating isofix base and we’ve just upgraded to the cybex sirona it fits on our base.

It's generally best to max out the infant carrier then go for an ERF seat. We have the axkid minikid and the axkid ONE2, highly recommend the minikid!

I had a doona from birth. I've just brought new carseats and Pushchairs for the next stage

@Kerry sorry to jump on this thread. I was looking to buy the axkid minikid - could you please tell me if it is as space hungry as the axkid one2 Thank you

@Sonia I would say it takes up as much space front to back as the one 2 but is narrower I think, it's a much better seat than the ONE2 in my opinion though

Yes, we still use the newborn car seat. I went to john lewis 2 weeks ago to check about sizing up, they checked his height and said he's too small to move up to the next one, he's 61cm and also they put him in the next size chair so I can see and yes he was tiny for it, his head was not in the headrest properly for support. The staff members also said this seat offered the most protection compared to the next levels, so utilise it while our babies still fit

My little one I’m the same seat and hasn’t met the cut off yet, however we have just bought a new seat for my husbands car as well he splitting drop off and pick ups. We bought the joie 360 spin safe - doesn’t spin the full way as we’re doing extended rear facing, but one of the safest and affordable on the market & we managed to get it in the sales. Only issue is it doesn’t last as long as the others mentioned from height/weight.
