Just been diagnosed with GD

Just reaching out to see if anyone is going through a similar thing. Had my results back yesterday and aim 35 + 1. The flag rate is 7.8 from a glucose test and mine came back at 7.9. Hoping to be able to manage it with diet but they have mentioned induction from 37 weeks. Anyone else going through the same?

Any excuse for the NHS to induce 🤦🏻‍♀️ I was diagnosed with late GD, around the same time as you, and it was a freak out because they started talking about induction and shoulder dystocia… scare tactics. I was only just over, like you, and I managed it with diet. I learned what spiked my sugar and what didn’t, and did just fine. Definitely have an induction if it’s right for you, no judgment, but do a lot of research. There is a fantastic podcast about it which I’m gonna look up right now xx

Ok the podcast is called The Midwives Cauldron, and there are two episodes on Gestational Diabetes- the pregnancy perspective and the baby’s perspective. They’re from mid 2021. Definitely leaned a lot x

I'm on my second GD pregnancy, I've had it since 9 weeks this time tho, it's been long! Join a FB group called Gestational Diabetes UK and look at their website for recipes. I'm still diet controlled and had a result of 9.4 on the test. Happy to answer any questions if you need any advice, I feel like a veteran at this now 😄
