How do you entertain toddler in car?

Ours absolutely hates any car journey longer than 20mins and gets so worked up…non iPad suggestions please (can’t afford one and would rather limit screen time anyway) like toys, book, games recommendations etc. He is 20mins.

We sing. Chat about what we can see. Make animal noises. You have to be mindful of what's brought in the car as if it's too heavy it can be a projectile in the event of an accident. A felt board with things to stick on could work. We have a Montessori busy board which is soft and all clips, zips etc Is his car seat reclined? If so is there a way to make it more upright so he can see more.

I use a playlist on Spotify of nursery rhymes and kids songs. Current favourites are the happy song, hop little bunnies, wheels on the bus, wind the bobbin up, generally ones she knows the actions to. I find that works well because if she was holding anything and dropped it, it would mean we'd have to stop as that would upset her more

Busy boards are great. Also a mini etch a sketch. A mirror. My girl loves looking at herself singing etc 😂

Our toddler loves her busy books. She can sit for hours playing with one. And they are soft so if it becomes projectile for any reason (hopefully not) it won't cause too much damage. I also know some people who get those scrapbooking containers from Micheal's that has all the mini containers in it and they put in activities there

Mine loved playing I spy. Looking for things they saw outside the car and inside the car

We sing songs, a book, go through animals and sounds as he loves them and what we can see outside. A playlist with his favourite nursery rhymes . I also keep light snacks to keep him going when he gets really restless.

I have the magnet play tins from Walmart they come in Barbie and Spider-Man I have both because my daughter loves both😂I also keep crayons and coloring pages in the car as well as a white board and whiteboard markers
