Pasta sauce

This may be a silly question but can we give our babies pre-made pasta sauces?? So far she’s just been trying individual fruits/veg/allergens each meal but I I want her to start eating with us so wanted to give her some bolognese tonight! As long as I don’t add extra salt etc is she fine to have this?

Totally fine as long as they’re old enough then yes go for it!

Keep in mind salt and sodium level intake 🫶 but other than that I’m sure it’s fine if that don’t eat too much 🥰

The sauces from jars mostly contain too much salt, sugar and lots of preservatives. Depends on age. Id use them for my 3 year old very occasionally but not a baby personally.

@Robyn same here. Too much salt/sugar so unfortunately not ok for babies.

We buy the reduced sugar and salt sauces, plus the amount they actually eat is quite low. I normally make my own sauce with a carton of chopped tomatoes but occasionally we will have a jar for a quick meal

It’s just as quick and easy to whip up a bolgnese sauce you know. I just use passata, bit of chilli, garlic and herbs and some veg stock ☺️ then baby can have it too

Just make a bolognaise sauce yourself, it's honestly so easy and will be better for your baby!
