As far as I know there is no such thing as an allergy medicine, except antihistamines for like hay fever/cat and dog allergies etc. However, a rash doesn't always indicate an allergy. Tomatoes are quite an acidic food and it's likely your baby is just a bit sensitive to the acid in a tomato and woukd likely have the same reaction to a pineapple or similarly acidic foods.
@Rachel ohhh okay I didn’t know this, Thank you 🙏🏻☺️
@Jayde he’s had pineapple before and loved it but no rash. Is it okay to continue to feed him tomatoes as he loves them too? Thank you for letting me know ☺️ xx
Id probably contact your health visitor or GP just to double check with them before you give them again.
@Jayde thank you for the advice xx
You could try applying something as a barrier before he eats. We use hydromol, not sure if you have that? If not, maybe something like vaseline? ☺️
@Elsa He seems fine with them as an ingredient too. I just won’t give them to him for now. She’s adorable btw ☺️ xx
@Ella didn’t think of this, will definitely try it. Thank you 🙏🏻☺️ xx
Apply some aveeno dry and eczema lotion... I know it's not eczema but that lotion works like magic
@Gayathri thank you, will try this xx
My daughter had this when we first started weaning and as Rachel said, it’s normal and due to the acidity of the tomatoes. You don’t need to remove these from the diet, carry on feeding so they don’t develop an allergy over time, and the rash will gradually stop happening. It’s just because their skin is super sensitive and being exposed to things they’ve never had before. No need to worry though 😊
@Jordan I did not know this at all until I posted this post so thank you so much ☺️ xx
@Charlie ☺☺
Rather than an allergy it's likely that it's the acidity if the tomatoes causing the contact rash. It's super common and happens with other food like aubergines as well x
