9 months with smp then 3 months unpaid x

12 months, but 9 months somewhat paid. It's all done in weeks though so to some extent it depends on which months we're talking about. But you get 52 weeks off with your job safe and 39 weeks of that is paid.

You can legally take up to 12 months maternity leave. However you can only receive pay for 9 months generally- statutory maternity pay stops at this point.

9-12 months

At least 9 months also depends how long you have been at a work place some allow 1 year maternity but money is not the greatest when taking longer then 9 months

@Kayleigh by law you can have a year off and return to your job. It doesn't matter how long you've been at the company. The last three months are unpaid though and obviously enhanced maternity pay varies a lot between companies

I'm taking a full year. A lot of work places if you talk to them before hand they can sort it out that you're paid for 12 months instead of 9, it means you won't receive as much money each month as your full pay will be reduced and spread across the 3 months you wouldn't normally be paid for

Anywhere between 4 weeks (I think) and 52 weeks, it's up to you how long you take within this timeframe ☺️

My work allow 12 months but as I understand it, only 9 months are government funded i.e smp
