2 failed NIPT?? What the heck is going on there? I did my blood draw and 10 weeks exactly to find out there was one of each gender! I'm so sorry I'd be feeling the exact same way you are that's so hard
@Kylee I think it's because I'm also overweight, so there's less of their DNA in my blood. Yeah, it's definitely getting rough. I have a feeling I'm having one of each, but I need the confirmation 😭
@Kirsten I don't see size being an issue for me, they were able to see that I am having fraternal twins in the NIPT (usually it's identical twins that are small) and neither one is measuring behind according to my last ultrasound at 13 weeks. I also have big babies and they saw my son's no issue by ultrasound at 16 weeks.
Yeah absolutely! I worked in my OB office so I was absolutely spoiled. I got scanned literally 3 times a week every week from 5-36 when I delivered, we already knew there was one of each because of the NIPT but we could clearly see who was who by about 14 weeks! So I don't blame you for thinking about a private scan!
@Kylee ugh 😩 I wish. My OB isn't even doing another ultrasound as far as I know. They already referred me to maternal fetal medicine for my Anatomy scan and haven't mentioned doing one there 🤦🏻♀️
I was referred to maternal fetal medicine and they defiantly did my 20 weeks ultrasound sound and starting around 24 weeks they ultrasound every 2 weeks
@Kirsten yes, I already have my 20 week ultrasound booked with maternal fetal medicine. I was talking about my actual OB not doing another ultrasound. I went to maternal fetal medicine with my last pregnancy as well. They're talking about sending me every 2 weeks starting at 20 weeks this time though. Last time I went every 4 weeks after 20 weeks, then weekly starting at 32 weeks.
For twins it can be hard to see since they can be a lot smaller. I would say wait tell your 20 week ultra sound in a month so that you can get the most accurate results. With my twins due to how small they were and the space they have to grow there is a lot of room for them to hide and run away. Mine always hid in the top highest corner just barely out of reach. At 20 weeks they are a little bigger tend to be easier to ultrasound
