Agreeing on names?!

So me and my partner have narrowed down baby girls name to 3 options; Poppy, Lily or Lottie… We both agreed quite easily on them then the problem is now the middle name.. I love the middle name Marie but he said no it’s weird as it’s my mums middle name (not why I picked it) but he wants to use his late nans name ‘Dilys’ as a middle name. I’m really not a fan of the name and had never heard of it before and struggled with the spelling/pronunciation at first so I think people in her life will as she grows up. I don’t want to be mean at all towards her and her name but they only saw eachother once a year and he only has this attachment as she’s the only loss he’s ever had in his life. I’ve got deceased relatives I could suggest to use in fair game back but he seems adamant on this being what he wants! How do I let him down lightly and make it fair by not going with any family names starting something completely new?!

A more unique name needs a normal middle name to even it out(in my opinion) Now lily can do a more unique middle name but if you go with the other 2 a traditional middle name is better. We’re struggling with this right now. My husband wants to do Aizen as a first name( a is silent) and the only middle name I think sounds good with it is James which isn’t a family name. So Im still undecided.

Agree to choose a non family name. I agree that dilys is weird and although you aren’t picking Marie for the family name, it wouldn’t be fair for you to get a family name and him not. Since you can’t agree, I’d suggest no family name. Lottie is very cute! Some suggestions: Lottie Louise Lottie May/Mae Lottie Jane

Why not two middle names? Both mine have two middle names one from each side of that family. Or create a name from both? Alternatively; what about another floral name? As 2/3 are floral? Like rose, Rosa, Azalea, Dalia, Iris, or calla? Xx
